Matbaren

This is the place to come alone or in the company of friends to eat well even if you are short of time.

Sitting by the large bar you can order, depending on your appetite and mood one or several medium sized dishes.

Since our food is prepared according to our philosophy of the Natural Cuisine, with only the best produce and ingredients depending on seasonal availability, the menu changes each day.  The menu in Matbaren has two sides where one is based on Swedish produce and the other is globally inspired.  At Matbaren we make sure never to book every table so you can spontaneously drop in when you are in the mood.

Atmosphere and ambience

The interior, in line with Mathias Dahlgren's gastronomic philosophy, mirros the meeting between local and global perspectives.  The local proudly protects the heritage, environment and products of Sweden as the international influences opens up for new experiences, encounters and tastes, Matbaren, that can seat 50 people, has a robust and swift ambience with elegant notes of natural wood an rax Swedish primitive pieces from 1700s.

The open kitchen allows guest to follow the concentrated work of hte chefs.  Cast iron tabels in the room pays tribute to our cast iron kings, the Bolinder Brothers, who once had a showroom in the same space.

Food en drink

Dining at Mathias Dahlgren is meant to be and experience for each and every sense.  This is achieved by treating both food and beverage with great care.  Deliveries of the meticulously selected meat, seafood and vegetables arrive in the morning to be turned into exciting dishes by the considerate hands of the chefs.  Every day our team of sommeliers find the perfect wines and drinks to accompany and enhance the taste experience even further.

Mathias Dahlgren is fortunate to share its wine cellar with Grand Hotel.  In the beverage menu you can find several kinds of wines and other drinks  from  Sweden and the rest of the world.  Our ambition is for you to be able to try new and unexpected taste combinations by the glass.

Reservations in Matbaren

Matbaren welcome parties up to ten people.  Reservations can be made up to one month ahead of time.  Since our door and drink selection changes on a daily basis - in order to maintain our philosophy regarding freshness and availability - we are unable to inform you in advance regarding the menu.  If you have special need s or wishes we will see to them at the best of our ability at the time of your visit.  Welcome to Mathias Dahlgren.
